On February 26-27, the Consumer Advisory Board (CAB) will be meeting in Washington, D.C., on a variety of topics, including the credit reporting market and managing consumer credit.
Richard Cordray will speak at a public session of CAB on February 27, where he is expected to focus on protecting consumer credit profiles. There will also a consumer response session, where consumer groups, industry representatives, and members of the public will have an opportunity to speak with CAB, as well as the CFPB’s Chief of Staff for Consumer Response and two CFPB Consumer Reporting Program Managers.
The CFPB has created four advisory groups, including CAB, made up of external experts, industry representatives, consumers, community leaders and advocates. CAB’s mission is the identify and assess the impact of emerging products, practices, or services on consumers and other market participants. The members of CAB provide the CFBP with information about emerging practices and trends in the consumer finance industry. They also advise and consult with the CFPB on its work, sharing analysis and recommendations.
