We are pleased to announce that Troutman Sanders partner Ron Raether will be a featured speaker at the American Conference Institute’s 2nd National Forum on Data Breach & Privacy Litigation, to be held at The Carlton Hotel in New York City September 29-30.

Ron will participate in a panel discussion entitled “Class Actions: Data Privacy & Security Breach Case Law, Trends in Key Jurisdictions and Circuit Court Rulings, New Class Certification Issues, Novel Standing, Causation, Damages, Injury and Actual Harm Nuances, and ​How the Spokeo and PF Chang Decisions Will Change the Landscape.”  The panel will examine arguments and defenses available in class action suits involving an alleged data breach.  The panel will explore the differences in how circuit and district courts have addressed challenges to standing and damages, with a focus on treatment of the recent Spokeo decision.  As cases begin to involve other issues, the panel also will explore the ins and outs of class certification, among other topics.
